Question issues with sound after windows update

recently updated windows 10,and now my headphones wont work. They are audio jacks and are plugged in the motherboard. The pc notices the microphone, but not the audio/headset. As im thinking its something wrong with the motherboard, but i just got a new one.

To be on the same page, which version are you currently on for Windows 10? Have you made sure you are on the latest BIOS update for your platform's motherboard? We don't know if you're working with a laptop or a desktop. If a laptop, include the make and model of your laptop and it's SKU. If a desktop, list the specs like so:

Include the make and model of your headphones. Have you tried working with the rear connections for the audio I/O? Try uninstalling and reinstalling your audio drivers.

i'm using windows 10 home version 1903, updated today.

Have you tried working with the rear connections for the audio I/O?
don't really know what u mean :/

and my windows is not activated. Might that be the issue?
