Hi

I recently purchased an antec VP450P (450W) PSU, thinking my generic 450W PSU was incapable of powering my 3TB HDD(Seagate Barracuda/WD Cavair Blue). The HDD were still not working as expected.

The original rig config:

-Core i5 1st gen(760) CPU
-nVidia 8400GS(512MB)
-Corsair Vengeance 8GB RAM(2x4GB DDR3...Later replaced by Corsair Value Select 1x8GB + Generic 1x4GB)
-Intel H55 chipset(Intel MoBo)
-1TB Seagate Barracuda
-3TB Seagate Barracude(Replaced by 3TB WD Cavair Blue)
-Some cheap local Case

This old rig worked as earlier(3TB HDD still having probs), with new Antec VP450P PSU.
Later I purchased a 6th Gen Processor(Core i5 6400) and Asus H170 Pro Gaming Board. While mounting this new rig into my old case, I figured out I was out of space, so I replugged my old rig itself. Later when I powered up my old rig, it started to reboot(before reaching BIOS). Tried everything, no solution. Got my MoBo and CPU checked to figure out my core i5 1st gen is burnt. Then I tried to power my new rig with the same PSU, same problem, no display and CPU reboots itself(without reaching BIOS). If I use that generic PSU(crap! I did that after using the antec PSU :/), it doesn't reboot, but no display now. Seems my PSU is faulty and I have already burnt two CPUs.
Any comments?

PS: I have already referred to that sticky thread on the new rig reboots itself tips.

I think that won't be enough to answer my qeury. I would like to know should I replace my PSU with a new PSU of same model(just purchased, so I can get a replacement). Or, my CPU is not burnt, and there can be some other fault?(Sometimes I suspect the person who checked might be giving a wrong answer.) Also, can I check my PSU any other way if it is fine or not?

How to check a PSU : http://www.howtogeek.com/172933/how-can-i-test-my-computers-power-supply/

Well it might be correct that your CPU is burned / mobo / gpu idk which one.
Why. Because after purchasing you are using the ANTEC and it came up. And then you change to another PSU it doesn't work.

Did you try to use your antec again? If it cannot "boot" then yes it might be correct that your CPU / Mobo / GPU is burned.

I didn't connect my GPU in the new board, only processor and Ram were connceted.
I used Antec in two board and on both the boards and CPUs there was the same problem of restarting with no display. Also, when I disconnected the CPU Power cable, the board didn't restart but no display as the CPU Power was not connected.

One more thing I'd like to add. 24 pin connector is working because the Power Supply is working. The connector with which I suspect the issue to be is 8pin CPU connector. Can I test that somehow?
