It is necessary for the front panel audio to be connected?

Hi guys I'm in a bit of a bind here, my case doesn't seem to be compatible with my motherboards front panel audio connection pins.
I have a thermaltake Swing and a asrock z77 pro 3.
I've looked into my manual for the MoBo, and it seems the pins are not compatible.
I was think of just using the back panel since it'll be on my desk anyway.

Nope , you only plug it in if you're going to use it really.

you dont really need to, it should fit on board but it might not use all the pins on your motherboard if you know what i mean

(personally ive never used it and never will as my keyboard has a pass through to the ones on the back)
