[SOLVED] It is safe to update to Big Sur on Macbook Pro Retina Mid 2014?

Last time I checked it was not safe to update, what about now when Big Sur is in version 11.1, it is safe to update my mid 2014 Macbook and don't die trying?

It should be. It should have been safe at launch normally it's demand that causes updates to fail.

In fact it was a bug recognized by Apple affecting this particular models. I will investigate on my own.

I wouldn't expect a bug they've recognised to survive into the next release
