I got this really annoying problem with my video or monitor that has plauged my systems since i built it... Everytime the system goes into green mode ( you know, harddrive shuts off and the monitor goes into stand by) and then i move the mouse to wake it up i guess you could call it... After the windows desktop comes up ill click the start button for instance and the whole screen kinda shakes and distorts for about 1/4 of a sec... If i type text on the screen it does the same... its happening right now and its annoying the hell out of me... I think its something with the video card because if i go play a game that requires a 3-d card, it has a really low FPS. Another think is if i click one of the arrows on a scroll bar, it will scroll very slow.but if i drag the bar its almost as fast as normal. The only way i can fix the problem is to log off my name in windows and log back in... When it is logging back in it still does it, but when windows is fully loaded, it stops for good, my games run fine, no sluggish scroll bar.
I have a philips magnavox 105-s monitor (15 in)
gforce MX 32 (driver date 8-23-2000 is that the newest)
asus a7v mb
128 mb pc 133
duron 700

hmmmm, only thing I would suggest is to turn off power saving on your system, sounds like something isn't turning back on correctly.

While the machine is in Standby mmode, do you smoke anything?
:)

well come to think of it...i think i might have had some cuban cigars, i had a couple of bowls or cereal, but we ran out of milk, so i used beer... Then i remember i fell down the stairs and went threw the wall at the bottom into the bathroom, where my head landed into the toliet bowl. Other than that, i dont anything out of the ordinary was bothering me. :)
