it says 4GB of RAM useable, while recognizing 8GB

so im guessing its the different speeds, the new stick of 4GB is 1600mhz, while the other one is 1333, but i went to my friend´s house, and the 1600 one was working fine with other 2GB 1333 ones, so its maybe just my pc? what can i do? it says it has 8GB but only 4 can be useable? is the speed thingy not working or?

Do you have a 32 or 64bit OS.

so i switched the slots for the 14th time, and now it works, maybe it needed to cool off? idk
im assuming it runs at the lowest speed available now right? 1333?

Mixing ram speed is never a good think to do. At time its can hurt performance.
