I recently upgraded my RAM and probably didn't snap the RAM in properly. It smoked briefly and now the circuit board between the RAM slots is a bit burnt and melted. The RAM sticks are intact. Windows still works, but I have enormous FPS drops and sometimes the screen freezes. Do I need a new motherboard, or can it be repaired?

If MB was burnt there, it can't be repaired.
Did you run memory tests ?

If its a highway... to the cpu....they are inside the mobo, so it's not possible to be fixed.
But if you try and find out if only one of the slot's highway is burned, you can use your PC with the other slot only(if that is the case).
