It wont boot up

i have an hp d series laptop it was fine one day then later that day i tried to get on it i put my pass word in and then my screen turned black so i powered down and it did the same so i took the battery out and i turn it on the fans and everything starts running the screen stays black then about 15 to 20 seconds later it shuts right off what could be wrong because if i could fix it my self i would instead of taking it to get fixed

Sounds like a shot motherboard to me. If it is less than a year old then you can probably get it fixed for free. Otherwise depending on what they're asking to fix it, it might not be worth it compared to the value of the laptop. Don't try to fix it yourself though and screw things up even more.

ok i figured that i doubt ill screw it up i already took it apart and put it back together thanks for the reassurance its a refurbished laptop from geek squad so i guess ill take it to computer club they may find a better mother board
