It Wont Work

My mic that is connected to my headset wont work but the headset its self does work so when i saw another post to go to sound then recording i see the microphone and it says not plugged in im very confused on what to do because no one has said what to do in this case and i cant find it anywhere. Also i have my headset and when i plug it in it says the device that you plugged in is:, then it gives me a list of options but headset is suppose to be a microphone and headphones so when i try clicking on both the headphones and microphone it will which off to one or the other meaning i can only chose one. i have a MSI computer and a headset from RIG 400HX camo (not wireless) http://www.plantronics.com/us/product/rig-400hx this is the site that shows you the exact pair (Also im trying to get this to work for game use) I hope this reason does not effect the the chances of having someone to respond to me . Please help

First of all, this headset is designed for Xbox controllers, hence why it has a single 3-band jack. You cannot use this on a windows PC as far as I'm aware.. If it was PC compatible it would either have USB w/the ability to pair to Windows or x2 3.5mm input jacks (one for audio, one for mic).
