Question It would be a waste of money to replace my RAM in my situation, right?

So, to get this out of the way first: I'm not having any issues with my RAM currently. I'm using 16GB GeIL Super Luce CL18 on an Intel system, where my primary use is gaming with some light photo editing and occasional statistical modeling.

The problem is, my RAM configuration can't be expanded. It's a custom-made timing (i.e. slower) so I can't buy the same GeIL Super Luce off the market. Therefore, in order to get to 32GB, I would just have to replace the whole set-up.

Then again, I don't really need 32GB, so this just might be a moot point. Should I just forget this and move on?

You don't need 2 kits of the exact same RAM in a system (unless it's for aesthetic reasons)
Or are you saying that your motherboard has no more open slots to add more sticks of RAM?

I have two empty slots, but I always read that you have to expand with the same exact brand/model of RAM. Or would that not matter?
