It's a Crying shame. Poor GTX 7xx Series.

So many forums and classified adds filled with sales of GTX760/70/80's. I'm amazed that people are so quick to throw away perfectly good GPU's for something bright, shiney and new. I have 2 x 770 4gb cards and still look at them in awe. I guess enthusiasts are who they are. Me? I run it till it dies or can no longer fulfil the recommended system requirements of the game I want to play. Heck, if the prices get low enough I just may pick up a 3rd Gtx 770 to help heat my house this winter ;-p

I dont see the issue. Some people like to sell their old gpu while it still commands a reasonable price and put that towards staying on the latest generation of cards.

Others like to just run their current system into the ground.

The 9xx series is more power efficient and so might not heat your house however ;)

Also just throwing out there that adding a third card will give you basically no benefit - I suggest staying away from it.

That being said, I agree with the idea that selling and upgrading every generation seems slightly silly, but hey; it works, and it means a healthy market for basically new cards for the rest of us.

The "adding a 3rd card" bit was just a joke. Kind of a jab at the amount of heat my SLI setup generates in demanding games. Yeah, people can do what ever they want. Just saying it's sad to see such a great series of cards so easily given up. I guess that is good news though for people who couldn't afford them 6 months ago. I've seen 770's like mine on Craig's list going for half of what I paid 9 months ago.

What was so great about them ? They have been a fairly unremarkable series of cards really, Brought nothing really new to the table, and just gave a good performance increase over the previous gen. Which is fine.

The 7 series has been hanging around for ages, I wouldn't say they have been easily given up.

Did not know that. Just started getting into PC gaming 2 years ago. Started with a Radeon HD 7750 and then upgraded to the Gtx 770. It was a huge increase in perfirmance to me. Im a fan of Nvidia now and think the 7 series are beastly cards. Sorry that made you upset.
