I brought my Epox 8RDA+ back to life! it died a couple of weeks ago, and a couple of capacitors looked a little dodgy, so I found a couple of likely looking ones on a couple of old mobos at work, and fitted them yesterday... and now it POSTs!
Of course, it might not run stably, and my soldering isn't exactly what you'd call 'professional'
, but it's better than the previous completely black screen!
Now I know what Dr. Frankenstein must've felt like, although fortunately I can't see any villagers with burning torches coming to lynch me... yet 😱 ..
Just thought I'd share my sense of self-satisfaction with you all.
Also, thanks to those who pointed me towards looking for dodgy caps. God those things are bastards to remove if you're lacking professional tools. I think I killed about 5 before getting 2 that work.
