It's fine to use laptop all day?

I usually use my laptop while charging for about 5 hours and then break and continue for about 8 till sleep. And i was wondering, it's safe to use your laptop while charging for more than 16-18 hours a day?

your battery life might decline generally by a little bit but that is to be expected
