Hardware on my PC:

AMD FX-8350 OC t0 4320 MHz, cooling w/mechanical fan
MSI R7950 3GB 384-bit DDR5 Video Card
16GB DDR3 1866 RAM
256GB SanDisk SSD
1TB Hitachi HDD
4-120mm fans, 2 in and 2 out
1-PSU cooling fan,intake 140mm
1-SSD/HDD cooling fan 140mm
750 watt Enermax Gold PSU

I am getting intermittent notifications of my CPU reaching the preset temperature limit. This is after the CPU fan has kicked way up in RPM's. All of the components are clean and no air restrictions.
Is it time for me to add a liquid CPU cooler?

Take off the overclock until you get some aftermarket cooling.

If you already have an aftermarket cooler, then yes, its time to upgrade it, whether that be a better air cooler or something liquid.

The cooler came with the CPU. It is a very good cooler. To answer your question I will step into the shoes of my 25 year old daughter..."it has shiny tubes and like...stuff man". It is a Coolermaster.

the coolers that come with CPUs is generally crap
