He shouldn't have kept such a dangerous pet around.

Who, the bugbear?
Actually, the dragon was acting as a free agent in this case, and was
no one's pet. For as we all know, pet dragons lose the use of their
breath weapon.

Precisely the reason why one shouldn't keep them in your own throne
room...

Um, I think he knew what I meant. "Who, the bugbear?" line made me
think he was talking in tongue and cheek...
I've had a good luck with those black dragons. One time, there was a
Titan in the Castle who summoned, among which there was a black dragon
who promptly disintegrated the Titan himself with a great bank shot.

I think Kremti was thinking of the black dragon as Croesus' pet. This
evidently happened in Ludios.

But how do you get the black dragon out of your throne room once it
takes residence?

I dunno 😀 I think the key is to leave him outside your throne room to
begin with, like the rest of the dragons residing outside the castle
around the moat.
