It's time to get the 1156 CPUs now!

But some of the boards still have voltage regulation problems with even moderate overclock settings.

These budget boards should be avoided by anyone doing moderate or more than moderate overclocking.

In my opinion, "budget" is the whole point of the P55/i5 platform over the X58/i7, so if you have to buy an expensive P55 board to do some decent overclocking, imo you should just go with the s1366 platform instead.

Hi

The Gigabyte m/b mentioned in that article is Foxconn socketed P55 series instead of P55A. The P55A series has LOTES socket, USB3 and SATA3.

As for OC, the P55A-UD4P is as good as the P55A-UD6 with less useless feature and only cost you $184.99. This is a great bargain IMO.

No, apparently the jetway and Asrock still have issues at even moderate voltage. I'd assume so does ECS and Foxconn and maybe even MSI.
You can simply avoid those brands which is known to have socket issue.

Why would you want to get something that is known to be bad?

Why don't you get Gigabytes P55A or EVGA's top line which is confirmed to be with LOTE socket?

Sigh, you are a slow one eh? Talking about voltage regulation issues, NOT SOCKET ISSUES. Please pay attention.
Yeah, I am talking about the voltage regulation of GIGABYTE ignoring the cheap and crap brands.

Are you expecting a Nissan to be as good as a Ferrari?

MBs from those cheap and crap brands are designed for use under the specification and NOT for OC.
