Its upgrade time!!

Hello everyone,

I am in the market to upgrade my current system while using the parts to build my fiance an entry gaming computer.

I have made two part lists: the first would be my upgraded computer and the second would by my fiance's entry gaming computer.

I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions? Max price I am willing to spend is $1500 and currently these upgrades would put me at $1287.87. Although cheaper alternatives would also be appreciated. (I know that I can get the cheaper 970 and save $40 but with my case this GPU would look better).

I think the first build is great for your need, but you fiance build need a better quality PSU. EVGA XFX and seasonic is great power supplies series.

Thanks BearTech, do you have any suggestions for a better PSU (models?). I have heard that some people recommend skipping the 970 and switching to R9 290x what do you think?

I have read more about your power supply for your fiance and i think you can go with SeaSonic 650W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply.

About the grafic card, i think you should go with 970. Yes it hase 0.5 less ram, but it is still a great card. It is a faster card and new gpu technology. So if you look in to the future this will last longer. And you will save $40
