Ive been using Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GBx2 DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz C15: CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 on ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming is it compatible?

I used pcpartpicker and it said it was just fine in terms of compatibility but someone made a comment about it seeming not compatible. This is extremely important to me b/c I think its damaging my MB can someone please help me out on this I need to find out as much as anyones willing to lend as info so I can fix it pronto. Please help guys. I cant thank you enough!

The memory is: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz C15 Desktop Memory

ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming

P.S. Also if you do have time after, is there a MB in the same price range of like $150-$200 that will allow the memory if it doesnt work with the Z170?

Relatively speaking Kaby Lake is more recent, assuming he's buying new which is sounds like from the way the post is worded, a Z270 board and 7700k would be a better fit.

There's no reason to go to a Z270 when that board = Z170 can run the modules safely , it would be a waste of money.

But i'm saying that'd limit you to a 6700k.
The Z170 pro Gaming is $91, the Z270 Pro4 is $109, i'd go for the extra clock speeds with the CPU.
Buying new there's little reason to go Z170 over Z270.

Update bios and it can support Kaby Lake. Also Skylake used to be up to $50 cheaper than Kaby Lake.

Dude really? It can accept any current processor with a BIOS update. If you can't use a processor to update it, go on ebay they sell updated BIOS chips.

Right now a 6700k and Z170 can be had for a great deal, and can be overclocked to the same levels. If we were talking Haswell, sure outdated, but come on.

Nonono, that's not what i'm saying in regards to that term, could have probably worded that better.
I'm saying for $20-30 more, you can get a Z270/7700k system with slightly higher clock speeds and better mobo features, and in my opinion that's worth it over a 6700k Z170 setup.
Checking the price of a 6700k now though, I see Superbiiz has a good deal for $20 less than the 7700k, that could be worth considering if OCing.
Whichever way it goes it's a good system, by outdated I only meant that there were newer variants out on the market for a similar price.

Price for Skylake has gone up as it's out of production and Microsoft blocked win 7 and 8 updates on Kaby Lake. When Kaby Lake was first released its cheaper.

Yes they are compatible and you're only going to need to enable X.M.P within BIOS to get your ram to the advertised frequency. As my colleague has asked, why do you think it's damaging the motherboard...?

Forget it, just go with Skylake, only giving my opinion to the scenario, didn't realise that was so frowned upon. I don't know how I can legitimately argue or debate anything relative to the thread if it's derailing it.
I admitted my misuse of the word and reached a conclusion on the two yet i'm still getting hammered for it.
I don't intend to derail anything, just not going to bother posting here anymore in case I get slapped with a ban.

Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 is actually listed on Asus Qualified Vendors List (QVL). It's not only compatible, it's been tested by Asus and is recommended for use on your motherboard. Whomever told you that there was a compatability issue and could damage your motherboard was speaking out of what they sit on and further advice should be either ignored or at least taken with much doubt.
