I've found a used GTX 770. Should I buy it? Is it worth?

I've recently found a used Gigabyte GTX 770 Windforce 4GB rev.2 card in very good condition on a site for about 120 dollars. I'm thiking of buying it as I believe I would get more perfomance instead of paying 250+ dollars for a brand new R9 280X or even worse, 350+ dollars for a brand new GTX 970.

Is it worth it or should I stick to the recently released GPUs?

By the way, can I use the GTX 770 for 4k hd gaming and video?

it seems like a good buy if it works. it wont be very good for 4k gaming, but it might be ok for older, less demanding games at 4k. modern and more demanding games will not be playable at 4k with that card.

For 120 it's a good deal though as said it wont hold up great at 4k though 4gb of vram will help it out. I have one and it's a bit bottlenecked by the 2gb of vram.

A good deal for $120, but not suitable for 4k gaming really, only the new high end cards are really.

Funnily enough, I've just done exactly the same thing. The extra VRAM won't improve the frame rate, but it will let you use higher resolution textures and post-processing effects. For $120 (USD?) it's a very good deal.

Yes at 1080p, but you may have to reduce settings depending on the frame rate you want.

It was basically a rebranded overclocked GTX 680, not using the bigger chip like the 780/780ti/Titan.

I guess as I use one I would be good to say. Anything from about 2014 and back can run maxed at 1080p give or take a few. It will run everything at the moment unless it's a broken port eg AC unity or arkham knight at around high and should be good for medium till about 2017ish.
