ive swapped my hard drive to another computer and its coming up with boot failure, please insert disk and press enter. ive changed bios boot settings and everything but its still coming up with this message can someone help me please... im at a loss
Because of the hardware differences between the 2 computers, this is common. Be sure to go into the BIOS and set the SATA mode to IDE for the best chance to successfully boot the second system.
Reinstall the chip set drivers. This may work, if not you may be able to do a repair install of windows. This will preserve all data, programs and settings.
Did you check boot order in the BIOS? Is it trying to boot from a disk that is in the drive? Like a previous poster said, ensure that the SATA for the drive is set to IDE as most likely your OS is installed in IDE.
