I have a third gen Intel rig and I have the opportunity to either upgrade to a Haswell i7 or Ivy Bridge-E when it comes out (the 4960X).

Is it worth the upgrade or am I better off spending the money I'm about to get on another GTX 770?

Solution
If you already have an Ivy Bridge rig, there is no sense in upgrading, Haswell is barely any faster than Ivy Bridge, and Ivy Bridge E is only worth it if you have applications that can benefit from the higher core count, or you have a use for the extra PCI-E lanes. If you're just gaming, you're better off getting a second GTX 770.

Thanks for that, I was only considering Haswell/Ivy Bridge-E since I'm rebuilding at the end of the year.
