Good day,

I need to ask regarding my oc temp using Noctua NH-D14 cooler. My rig consist of i5-3570K (4.3ghz) and Gigabyte Z77X-D3H.

My OC,Vcore(stock is 1.19v) and Prime95 temp as per below,

3.8ghz/1.15v/55-65 celcius
4.0ghz/1.15v/60-70 celcius
4.2ghz/1.25v/70-85 celcius
4.3ghz/1.25v/85-95 celcius

Is seems that I can't oc any further due to temp already exceeding 80 degree on prime95, and the vcore already require 1.25 for only 4.3ghz speed.

I notice most people with same rig as mine can easily oc to 4.3ghz to 4.5ghz with same/lesser vcore and much lower temp with their NH-D14.

Is it that I got bad chip or is it something wrong with my NH-d14. I'm using Thermaltake Mark 1 Chaser full tower casing and I can assure the airflow condition is good with lots of fan,

Intake fan : 200mm x 200mm : 2 units
120mm x 120 mm : 1 unit

Outtake fan : 200mm x 200mm : 2 units
140mm x 140 mm : 1 unit

Sorry for the bad english, appreciate any advice given from you guys, thanks.

Hi,

Already finished clean the old thermal paste and put the new one on the heat sink based on method above.

Below are the temp. observed,

3.8ghz/1.15v/55-65 celcius
4.0ghz/1.15v/60-70 celcius
4.2ghz/1.25v/70-80 celcius
4.3ghz/1.25v/70-80 celcius

Still high for the temperature but at 4.3ghz the temp manage to stay around 70-80 celcius compare to previous (85-95 celcius)

Well, at least still able to reduce the temp at 4.3ghz and learned how to replace thermal paste by myself.

Thanks bouncedk for the advice.
