wondering how to troubleshoot anything with this Izotope RX software
it said VMWare or something during the install, and it's giving errors to save files or load some parts
one project file opens fine but gets corrupt or something because it refuses to export

it could be because i'm loading a file too big, so i split the file into parts
i get all kinds of errors
it sometimes fails to export a file, or only when it's Export Selection...tech support recommended run as Admin, and reinstall in Safe Mode
it exports the file, but then renames it "RX Temp save file ....."
Sometimes it functions ok

software gets slower and slower while editing; have to export the file and open it again and it's faster again.
mainly the fact that i'm not sure it's gonna botch a file to not be able to even export it
now it's not crashing, but i wonder if running higher spec machine would also help
it's not using tons of RAM, and i don't know what VMWare kind of setup it's doing
software that runs some whole environment just different somehow

i have more specific error codes somewhere but mostly crashing, and that's fixed by using shorter tracks
the file export is just a bit annoying for such an expensive software
and as i said, if anyone has anything to say about the VMWare or whether a higher spec even help this
else maybe skip this thread...already been trying to debug my OS, printer...lots of small things altogether

Izotope RX is a powerful audio restoration and editing software, and it can be a bit finicky at times. It's essential to troubleshoot the issues you're facing. Here are some steps to help you resolve the problems you're experiencing:

1. System Requirements: First, make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for Izotope RX. If you have a lower-spec machine, it might struggle to handle large audio files.

2. VMWare Reference: The mention of VMWare during installation might be due to virtualization. Ensure that no virtual machine software like VMWare is running in the background, as it could interfere with Izotope RX's functionality.

3. Reinstall in Safe Mode: As suggested by tech support, try uninstalling Izotope RX and then reinstall it in Safe Mode to ensure there are no conflicting processes or applications.

4. File Size and Complexity: Large audio files with complex edits can sometimes cause problems. Splitting them into smaller parts is a good idea, but ensure you're working with compatible file formats and resolutions. Sometimes, converting files to a simpler format can help.

5. Export Issues: If you encounter issues during export, try exporting to different file formats or locations. You may also try exporting a shorter section of the audio to see if that works. Make sure you have the latest audio drivers for your sound card.

6. Performance Optimization: Izotope RX can be resource-intensive. Make sure other applications are closed while you're using it. You can also increase its processing thread priority if your system can handle it. Check if there are any background processes consuming resources.

7. Error Codes: Specific error codes can provide valuable information about the issues. If you have these error codes, share them with Izotope's support for more targeted assistance.

8. Hardware Upgrade: If your computer is below the recommended system requirements, you may experience performance issues. Upgrading your hardware, especially CPU and RAM, can significantly improve performance.

9. Software Updates: Ensure that Izotope RX is up to date. Sometimes, software updates fix bugs and improve performance.

10. Temporary Files: The "RX Temp save file" issue might be related to temporary files not being cleaned up. Try manually deleting these files and see if it helps.

11. Tech Support: If you're still facing issues, continue to reach out to Izotope's tech support. They should be able to provide more specific guidance based on the error codes and your system configuration.

12. Backup Your Work: Before making major changes to your software or system, always back up your work to prevent data loss.

Remember to be patient and methodical when troubleshooting, as audio editing software can be complex, and issues can have various causes. It's also a good idea to keep your operating system and other software updated, as this can sometimes resolve compatibility issues.
awesome answer
yeah for export it's two things. one project file crashed whenever i tried even before it got the menu up.
but more often it's able to on others, and the problem has mostly been Selection Export
so i ran the software as Admin, and most software has zero problem with this drive partition and i even tried applying file ownership permissions
it is able to export a whole file no problem
but to export selection, it gives error to rename the file and then still outputs it
so i'm not clear what exactly the problem is
i just have to keep manually renaming the file

Izotope support doesn't seem to know what this debugger is

clearing the appdata folder and reinstalling the software again didn't do it
some of the settings is still there
but as i said, the file itself starts having a problem, or something like that
a different file will function
even running Izotope RX in another fresh OS install, the same project file will open but not export
if i remember correctly. there's been a bunch of problems with the software, but usually as long as i use smaller files or not bothered by the Selection Export errors, but maybe that's related.

i can open the file
but at this point this file is not gonna work...i can edit the file, etc...i was previously able to export it
and now i can't Selection Export nor full regular export or anything

can't get stereo mix working to record the track through Audacity to get it exported manually
stereo mix isn't working...

maybe just getting a Mac computer would be better?
i'm not sure if even getting top specs on a desktop PC would fix a bunch of stuff
if it would, what specs would be most stable...get a good motherboard, enough capacity and load stable software
since this computer been enough trouble, might even have to warranty it
but it may be the software

sorry to make a whole new thread, but the solution could be get a stable build and stable OS and software
izotope software problematic, or maybe need to warranty my computer also
(thanks Admin for merging thread)

i could get a Mac
and/or a desktop with more hard drive storage, or a dock
wondering though what thunderbolt or usb 4 or whatever can actually do 20gbps or 40, etc, since a lot of them are rated for but i've read that they don't
it's possible to get some NVME enclosures and SSD 2.5" ones but that'd be like 2TB or so

wondering the best way to get high speed hard drives, if there's no 3.5" drive docks with the thunderbolt/usb4
like just get a desktop case that can hotswap drives or something

but then that wouldn't be a mac
so i'm not sure what to get, since i am considering Macrium Reflect software, and already have SyncBack for Windows, and then there's Beyond Compare seems maybe useful
some of these take some learning to figure out
often folks just get more hard drive space than to optimize it

point being do i get some stable motherboard, install Windows again but hopefully just avoid all these errors
maybe just get DOS and leave it at that

Izotope support says to try this next

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/v...-time-debugging-in-visual-studio?view=vs-2022
and it's already disabled

so they say it's a Microsoft problem, not a problem with Izotope

@juanjostorreshernndez your reply got deleted somehow

i might just edit using WAV file and try not to overload or crash the software
already trying to use smaller tracks, since it was slowing down to a snail crawl
why all the errors...Selection Export....and Export
i get the sense even getting a high powered system might not fix this VMWare and Visual Basic and the support team doesn't seem to have answer for some other problems with the software
Zero Crossings doesn't seem to work
why blame Microsoft for Visual Basic error?
maybe use a Mac, but is this software actually stable for any track over 20 minutes or after doing more edits?

also nobody mentioned just copy the Project contents to a new Project and then it exports with no delay
usually it lags quite a while and freezes
not sure if CPU or RAM would improve this...
if anyone could name what specs to get....Izotope won't even answer that
their specs requirement page barely says anything
