I know I have OpenJDK 21 and Java 8 (not sure of their exact versions currently)

In short I've recently been hitting an issue with my Java install where when I try to update it it comes up with:
Unable to validate security integrity on the file. File is either corrupted or unsigned.
I assumed it was a botched update patch however this has happened across 4/5 update notifications from Java now so I doubt it was.
Apps that need it still run however so I am not sure what is happening???
I do know of this program (Jarfix) but I'm not sure - once again - if its needed (aka. I should reinstall Java) or if thatll cause more issues since programs that use Java do seem to run fine?

From the link:

"If you doubleclick on a jar file, and your Java application does not start, your .jar association has been hijacked. You can fix the problem with Jarfix. "

Jarfix may or may not be a solution - simply because the problem has not been identified.

First back up all important data to other locations before doing anything.

Look in Task Manager > Startup and Task Scheduler: Any references to OpenDJK or other java related apps or tools that may be being launched at startup or triggered via Task Scheduler?

Look in Update History for problem or failed updates.

Objective being to discover more information that could help discover why updates are failing.

Then disable OpenJDK - I would not expect that it would be involved. However, it may have established itself as a default app when java is run. I.e., "associated".

Determine if programs and then Java continue to run and/or update.

Likewise for Java 32 bit version, It may or may not be necessary for your build and requirements.

Again - disable only to discover other issues that are being masked.

There are other places to look - the above actions are a good starting point.
