Java won't run at all (Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.)

Java isn't working on my computer. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. Made sure that Java was activated in Firefox. Hell, I've lost count of the number of 'fixes' I've tried at this point. Here is the exact error message:

Java Virtual Machine Launcher
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

Can anyone help me? Please, there has to be some way to make it work. I NEED it to work.
