Hello, I am having a problem with Just Cause 2... I can run Skyrim on ultra with high-res texture pack, but I can't run JC2 on medium setting?? Any tips on what the problem is, or how to fix it?

Specs:

i7 3630qm

GTX 660m (no overclock)

8gb RAM

1TB 5400 Hard drive

1920 x 1080

In that case you must ensure that the game utilises the maximum of raw power your PC can provide. For that you need to quit all processes other than the game's and the critical system ones.

The very simplistic way to do that is to use any game-booster. I am assuming that you have installed certain apps which eat your PC's RAM and processing power in the background, while you are playing Just Cause 2.

The other difference between you and the YouTube guy can be that his game is "Offline Cracked". Because of this, resource is not wasted on checking the DRM keys. I do not know if it's a real issue here, but it had been an issue with SECUROM in GTA 4.

Cheers,
Rick
You have a 1080p laptop? Nice...

Anyway uh what is your AA/MSAA setting at in JC2? Make sure MSAA is off if there is a setting for it (can't quite remember if there is atm). Also try messing with the AO settings (Ambient Occlusion) again if that setting even exists or not. If it says HBAO, change it to SSAO or turn it off completely.
Past that try verify game cache.

Just Cause 2 is a graphically pretty game, and thus, it requires some amount of juice to run maxed out.

Here are the settings that are most extensive to your GPU's power:
Shadows quality: Make it Medium or Low
SSAO: Off or Medium
Antialiasing: Off [this is an fps eater]

Well, to be honest, I still only get 15-20 fps on medium, while I hear about others who can get good fps on high settings with worse specs without the "offline crack". What is the problem?? I've tried new drivers, capping fps, even changing the application settings in the NVIDIA control panel. Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated! GameBooster worked well, but only a 5-10 fps increase. I mean, I had better fps on high with my old Radeon 5670 and Core 2 Duo!
