Hi, So I am having trouble with the graphics lately I have been playing all the latest games on this PC up until 19-Oct-2020 without any issues. Games including Hitman 2 (2019), Battlefield One, Snowrunner etc. But today I started up the PC normally it showed no weird behavior and I started the game Snowrunner and the graphics were poor. I tried updating the Graphics Drivers there was a pending update in AMD Radeon Software so I went ahead and updated it after the update it asked for a reboot just like the drivers usually ask totally normal so I restarted the PC but that didn't fix the issue. So I went ahead tried installing latest DirectX (downloaded from offical microsoft site) but that returned the message something saying "You already have updated version of the software installed". There are no errors, no blue screens of death or anything like that. I have attached screenshots of the graphics on Snowrunner game as well as my PC specs. All of the games' graphic settings are at default and untouched.

Problem:

See the RED stripes on the tanker how they are pixelated and blurring also the tarmac used to be sharpe and high quality. Also notice the poor texture quality of the trees and rocks on the hill in background.

Problem:

At this point I am not sure what the issue actually is so I am not sure which section this thread should be in so appologies for that.

Thanks

I see that the driver was updated on the 16th and you say everything was good until the 19th. Are you sure about that? That looks kinda suspicious.
Also, the latest driver for Win10 64 bit is 10/19/20. You have the previous one 9/16/2020.

Do you experience the same problem in all of your games or just this one?

First thing I would do is power down everything including the monitor and then power up again. Not just reboot. Do this after updating your driver to the 10/19 version:)

Then I would go to the Event Viewer and check the Custom Views first. Look at the Administrative Events and Device Manager events. I have a NVIDIA GTX760 and have 2 event logs for it. Hopefully you will see your video card there too.

Then go to the...

I'm glad you're having problems cause I just checked my System logs and see that I have disk controller problems which explains the problems I current have with Windows Explorer:) Good luck!!

I figured this out, my OS is Windows 10 and windows gave me a drive issue notification (the windows 10 notification center that appears from the right side) something saying "Click to restart to fix the drive issue" forgot to take the screenshot of it but it was this one (found on google)

Did a complete shutdown. Checked all the cables in PC specially the hardrive cables and turned on the computer this time on the windows loading screen it ran like a chkdsk type of thing it was quick (maybe a process that the notification was trying to run and was asking for a restart) and then booted the computer successfully to the desktop. Started the Snowrunner game again it was working fine again!!! 😀 Ran other games like GTA V and Euro Truck Sim 2 and thankfully they were working fine as well.

Here is the screenshot from Snowrunner again with graphics back to normal:

So it seems like the issue is with the hardive maybe it was warning sign from computer to replace it which would be painful considering the fact that I will have to redownload the huge games from Steam again which are tons of GB in size 87gb GTA V and hitman 2019 96gb or something lol. Anyways I am glad its fixed.

It would be great though someone could explain what actually happened?

Thanks!
