Jittery cursor when I stop moving my mouse

Greetings! So, I just got a new mouse, more specifically a Logitech G303. The problem I am having is, when I move my mouse and then stop, the cursor gets all jittery for about half a second. I tried using a different USB port, cleaned my mousepad, cleaned the laser port, but nothing seems to help. Turning down the DPI sensitivity reduces the effect, however. Is this a software problem, or should I RMA it?

What kind of surface are you using the mouse on? Some mouse mats and table surfaces can interfere with optical mice sometimes. Logitech has their own software, Logitech Gaming Software, that purportedly allows you to fine tune various settings on the mouse to accommodate use on various surfaces. Have not ever used it myself, so I can't say whether that claim is valid or not.

I am using a generic black cloth mousepad. My previous optical mice never had this problem, and tuning this one to the surface seems to make the problem worse.
