Join to a lan wifi server using wired ethernet?

So im just wondering can you join like to a cs 1.6 lan server that has been hosted using wifi connect to it using wired ethernet (same router) beacouse my friend hosted using wifi and server didint come up in lan tab (im using wired ethernet)

A wired and wireless host on the same router should be able to communicate. There is a configuration problem somewhere rather than a network problem.
