Hi,

I’m happy to hear you were able to find a solution to your problem by installing Windows 7 Enterprise however I would just like to post a few additional points for anyone else who may find his or herself in this situation.

Yes, as several members within this thread stated, Windows 7 Home Premium machines can be connected to workgroups and homegroups and only Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Enterprise and Windows 7 Ultimate machines can be joined to a domain. For those who do are not currently running Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Enterprise, or Windows 7 Ultimate, there is an easy upgrade path to Windows 7 Professional or Windows 7 Ultimate through the Windows Anytime Upgrade program as opposed to having to install / reinstall a different version of Windows 7.

hi, Jessica!

Good one. But I need to know if there is a way we might have Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade even for Windows 7 Ultimate? I ask this question because I have had researched with the upgrade and found out that it is not possible with the above stated edition of Windows 7.
And another question that I have is that, why is it that the Business Accounting System (BAS) if installed on machines running Windows 7 the information system cannot print or even display the orders captured on it, whilst having it running to its best as developed. I was speaking with one of the technicians from the National Treasury Office and I was told to attach two odd files which differentiates our department from other departments and theirs is displaying and printing. How may you guys assist me on that. I can be very glad if the forum can assist even before the National Treasury Office does.
Hope I am not insulting anyone or annointing anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Mxolisimk,

I'm not sure I follow your question. The Windows Anytime Upgrade program is used to upgrade from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional or Windows 7 Ultimate, and / or upgrade from Windows 7 Professional to Windows 7 Ultimate. The available Windows 7 editions are Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Enterprise and Windows 7 Ultimate. There is no version of Windows 7 higher than Windows 7 Ultimate. Therefore, there isn't an upgrade available. For those who wish to move from their current Windows 7 version to Windows 7 Enterprise a clean install will be required.

Regarding your second question on application compatibility, I am not familiar with the software you listed however Microsoft does have both the Windows 7 Compatibility Center and the Windows 7 Application Compatibility List for IT Professionals available for hardware and software verification. If the software is not compatible with Windows 7, you might want to consider the use of Windows XP Mode and Windows Virtual PC.
