I have Win XP. I have a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro joy
stick. It worked great with Win 98 and Win ME but WILL NOT WORK WITH
Win XP at all. It tell me that it is not connected. Could someone
please tell me a good joy stick with rudder control on the stick that is
a plug and play stick.

Thanks

I'm using an old Microsoft Sidewinder 3D Pro (no force feedback) on WinXP
and it recognized it right away (in fact, it works better on XP than it did
with WinME). Maybe if my old joystick works, your slightly newer one still
has hope.

Mine has a switch on the front bottom of the joystick base to toggle between
two "modes" of joystick; if your joystick has a similar switch, and if you
haven't already tried it, maybe changing the mode there will help.

I have the Sidewinder ForceFeedback2 stick. It is USB and I'm using it on a
laptop with XP Home. Microsoft stopped supporting it in September 2004.
You might go to device manager. With the stick plugged into the computer,
mine stick shows up as a "human interface device". I highlight and click
properties and the window states the "device is working properly". If you
find it there, click action and UNINSTALL the device. Remove the USB plug
the plug it back in if windows does not recognize "new device".
