juggling analog and DVI signal ?

my monitor supports DVI and analog, I want to check if there are notable differences, can I connect both cables to my video card (wich has an analog and a DVI port) at the same time and juggle between the 2 signals from the OSD of the monitor?

Yes... at least it woeks fine on my Acer 732
