Today i spent some time overclocking my Processor. First time doing such and i cant say i understand everything that goes with it, but i am going through a learning process.
System specs are:
AMD Phenom Agena 9500 OC'd to 2465Mhz
Biostar Tforce TA790GX A2+
Powercolor ATI Radeon 4850 512Mb
OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800Mhz/PC2-6400 Memory GOLD DUAL CHANNEL
Arctic Cooling (AC-ALP-64) Alpine 64 CPU Cooler
Antec 300
Arctic Power 600W PSU
Seagate 500GB Hard Drive SATA II 7200rpm
2x Antec Tricool 120mm Intake case fans from the front
Vista 32 bit OS
I used AMD Overdrive at first, unintentionally this looked to work out my max CPU frequency at 224, so i updated the Bios and set the Freq to that amount. Has run Prime 95 and AMD Overdrive Stability tests fine.
Thing is, in CPU-Z i can see the Multiplier jumping between 5.5 and 11 (11 being the recorded setting) and i cannot figure out why. Is this a sign of instability?
Speedfan reports that my CPU isnt going above 35c and AMD Overdrive actually took the processor upto mid 2500's
Its kinda late and i cant think what other info to include. My RAM comes at 6-6-6-18 and is advertised to run at 5-5-5-18 with an Voltage increase so im going to go and sort that out, looks easy enough.
