Just bought a new proccessor, monitor won't connect?

So i just replaced my proccessor, i have the 965 black edition proccessor that i am attempting to run on my computer, as soon as i put the new proccessor in, my monitor displays a "no signal" error, but when i put my old proccessor in, it works fine, what could be causing this?

details please...which mobo are you using and old processor is what model and make? the reason for this could be that you may need a BIOS update for the new processor. Give us your comp[lete configuration

If the processor does not supported by mobo then u dont get signal because computer not on.
