Question just bought a RTX 2060 and need help?

today i bought a RTX 2060 to upgrade my old system that has a GTX 970, my problem is i didnt know what kinda gpu ports 2060 has before i bought it, now my monitor a bit old and has only a vga output and i am using my GTX 970 with a port converter( DVI to VGA), but now 2060 has 3 display ports and 1 hdmi, do i need a new monitor ? or can i just buy a display port to vga converter and use it like i did before? if the converter thing works , does it have any kind of downsides like input lag etc?

You really need to get a new monitor , for a great card like the 2060. Converters are hit and miss.
