Hi Everyone,

I just joined the OLED gang and bought and Asus ROG STRIx oled xg27aqdmg. I've plugged it in and all turns on okay, but I'm noticing a few things:

  1. 80% Of the options on the monitor menu are greyed out
  2. The RGB power indicator isnt on.
  3. The brightness is capped at 40.
  4. Do I need to install a driver? I downloaded a file from ASUS but cant find anything to run in it.
  5. What do I need to do in terms of setup? I noticed that the colours look a bit more shadowed than my old 1440P Monitor (non-OLED). Is this normal? What settings to I need to apply?
I feel like I'm missing something / need to do some setup but I don't know where to start?

To install the driver you need to find the panel in device manager, click update driver, and point it to the folder you have placed the downloaded driver. It should pick it up.

That may solve most of the problems.

Should be a completely different color experience from other monitor types. Set it up how you prefer. You may have some sort of eco/screen protection mode on that is trying to prevent burn in.

Some panels have dynamic contrast in HDR mode as well that you could be experiencing. The whole panel will brighten and dim depending on what is on the screen. For example if you are looking at a browser or your desktop wallpaper is white, it may dim itself.
