Just bought new monitor, can I modify the base rod to adjust the height?

Just purchased a new monitor:

https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-24MK430H-B-led-monitor

But the base is way to high, if I cut it down to a lower height, will my warranty be void?

I won't touch the actual mounting bracket, just the plastic rod.

Lady at the shop said it would void warranty...(3 years), however, couldn't I just tell LG I lost the stand when I mounted the device to the wall?

I only need warranty for display and inner electronics, not for plastic base?

Normally when you send in a monitor for warranty repairs, they will tell you to send in the monitor only, not the stand.

Of course, any damage to the stand is on you.

You will be fine.

The monitor has a 75/75 VESA mount.
A wall mount can clear up desk space for you.

Can't mount on the wall, too far away, and I need to move the monitor often...

About the base, yes, if I say I lost it, and only the warranty would cover the screen, would be logical, unless they say you need to send complete unit to get warranty?
