I just build a gaming PC. Every time I turn it on, the fan slowly turns up and then after a few minutes the computer shuts down. I have a MSI z97 gaming 5 MB and an i5 4690k cpu with a evo 212 cpu fan. I tried changing the thermal paste and used a small rice size of it. I re installed the cpu fan 3 times to make sure everything with that is correct and each time I cleaned and re applied thermal paste.

If you have to hold your power button try switching the Reset switch with the Power switch connector then use reset button as your power switch. I once had an issue where PC would turn on for few seconds half way the BIOS POST then shuts down and it turns out it was a grounded power switch. Also make sure that the heatsink is properly seated so that it is applying the right pressure to the CPU. You can also trouble shoot the problem by taking everything off except for the CPU and fan then start your PC. if you PC starts without shutting down for couple of minutes then try adding the parts one at a time and test again to see which component is faulty.
Also , I have not installed Windows 10 yet or any OS. I just go straight to the Bios and let it do nothing and after a couple of minutes , the cpu fan turns up and then the whole computer shuts down.

i changed the cpu fan to the stock intel cooler and still no luck. I'm literally pressing the power button , go into Bios , wait and do nothing, and after a couple of minutes , the cpu temperature and fan speak rise until 60 degrees celcius and then the screem shuts off.
