A few days ago I built my gaming PC and I stressed and benchmarked my system. While I was stressing my i7 4790k at 4.0Ghz on Prime95, it reached 90 degrees+ and I shut off my system. I'm using the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. My idle temp is 55 degrees and I learned that that's too high for a CPU like mine that's not overclocked. My case has two intake fans in the front, one intake fan on the top and one exhaust fan in the back. My CPU is running at 1.3V while on idle. Is something wrong? What should I do?

Here is an image of my CPU's information.

Here are my computer specs (I couldn't find the right fans, my corsair fans have four pin connecters)

I have a similar PC to you. I have a 4790k, but its under a Noctua NH-D15, which is miles better then the hyper 212, but I am also getting 90+C on P95, but its OK, as P95 is ment to push the CPU to the limit.

one thing which is problamatic, is the voltage. did you change the voltage? as the CPU shouldnt be at 1.3v at stock speeds...

All I did was install the components. I installed a a rice sized amount of thermal paste and fastened the cpu cooler and fan. I changed none of the voltages, nor did I overclock.

Yeah as mentioned above people go by Celsius. So your CPU is freezing. However if you say stock is 55C then its kinda warm, unless that is Fahrenheit. Id suggest put as many good fans in your case as you can. Put one one the bottom for intake to if you can. Good fans and make sure you know Static pressure vs air intake fans if not just ask. But fill the case with fans.
