Just built a pc how do I know it works

I need answers I just built my first pc I currently don't have any softwares installed no windows ten nothing how do I know every thing is working even with no software should something show up on the Smaller tv I'm using as a monitor so far it's on nothing shows up help

The PC does a power on self test (POST) when turned on, you can see it on the monitor screen.

You can download for free any lunix/Ubuntu installer and even run it from the USB stick or CD if you choose a protable version. That way you can learn more about your rigs performance.
