I just built my PC 2 days ago and now i'm stuck. I have a few problems but the main one being I can't select drivers to install on Windows 10. I'll walk through what I've done so far.

1. First boot brings me to BIOS.

2. Set up my personal preferences and get everything ready for Windows 10 install.

3. I don't have a CD/DVD drive (I have an Apple Super Drive but it won't work with my PC) so I took everything from my installation disk I bought 2 weeks ago and copied it to my SanDisk 18GB flash drive.

4. Plug the flash drive into the 2.0 port in the back and save my settings and restart.

5. System boots up and goes to Windows installation.

6. I choose "Install Now" and then select my language.

7. Installer goes to "Select the driver to install" page and there's nothing.

8. Remove the USB to download my WD Black 2TB HDD driver (I wiped the USB clean of the windows 10 installer first) and plug it back in to which I get nothing.

9. Change from 2.0 to 3.0 slot and still nothing. Same goes for my M.2 SSD driver.

10. Now i'm stuck because I'm not sure what drivers it wants me to install and also for some reason on certain BIOS setting my "Boot Device" LED on the motherboard is red.

This is my build:

I only have 1 ASUS GTX 1080 ROG STRIX OC Edition graphics card also.

Solution
First of all in the bios setup of your motherboard change the settings below in the bios.
If the board is UEFI capable, choose the advanced bios mode.

1. Enable detection of legacy usb devices = enabled.

2. Sata ports, Mode selected = Ahci mode.

3. In the menu page for bootable devices from 1 to 6 devices.

Set the usb flash drive to number 1.
And the hard disk device you wish to install windows too as number 2

Scroll down the page and you will see another two entire points for boot devices.
Again set the usb flash drive to number 1, and the drive intended for windows to be installed too as the second device.

You now need to look for the hardware booting of devices where it will have options of what types of hardware devices are...

For this setting and the order of detection select the mode: Legacy op rom \ Uefi.

Save all of the changes you have made above before you exit the bios setup menus.

NB: Most motherboard based on the amount of sata ports on the board provided have a mix of sata 2.0 ports or Sata 3.0 ports.

And can often carry two sata based chip sets, where both chip sets must be enabled in the bios, if you connect a sata device to a set of sata ports of the motherboard based on the colour of the sata port of the motherboard.
But have not enabled both sata chip sets in the bios. the drive will not be detected.

The red Led light lit for Boot device on a Asus board ect.
Means no boot device was found, or the device selected does not hold a boot able os partition.
Or the device was not found on the interface, because the setting for the Sata ports and the mode was left as Sata, where the mode should be set to AHCI mode, and needs to be changed in the bios setup of the motherboard.

I would tell you that I tried this because I did but I got the ISO file on my MAC instead of my laptop and didn't use the media creation tool. I'm creating the bootable USB now it's gonna take a while. I'll let you know what happens when I proceed to install.

I just went through and noticed a bunch of the stuff you put on here was wrong so I changed it to what you suggested. I'm now waiting for my windows 10 ISO to be created to my USB on the media creation tool.

I do have some questions for my other BOOT/CSM configurations though.

Here is what I have:

Boot Device Control - UEFI and Legacy OPROM

Boot from network devices - Legacy Only

Boot from storage devices - UEFI driver first

Boot from PCI-E/PCI expansion devices - Legacy only.

Do I need to change any of that? Also my HDD SATA port is in SATA6G_9 (BLACK). Should I plug it into a different SATA port or does that matter?
