just built system, video error

Just built computer having issues with video. I try to install win98 after successful startup and after about a min or two the monitor stops recieving a signal from the video card. It's not the monitor, works fine with any other computer...

Only way to fix the problem is to fully reboot...of course again after a min or 2 the monitor stops receiving.

specs:
amd athlon 2200
gigabyte ga-vrxp
512mb ddr 333
tnt2 32mb vid card
40gb 7200rpm 8mb cache

Try rebooting it in safe mode and DOS mode, and test it again.

failing to isntall windows 98 alone on the blank hard drive. So no windows settings or safe mode available. I'll try the DPMS though and let u know if it works, thx.

I cannot find any monitor option in bios that has dmps as one of it's options.
