Hi,

I have a Ryzen 2600x and i was running it on 2133mhz ram (2 x 8gb) but decided to upgrade to 8gb of 3000mhz as apparently Ryzen prefers higher speed ram. Now i swapped it over and it was still showing 2133mhz in task manager, hwinfo so i changed the speed in the bios to 3000mhz and when i turned the computer back on task manager said the speed was 3000mhz but in HWinfo and CPU-Z it is saying it is running at 1496.4mhz. Can anyone give me some idea as to why it is saying this? have i done something wrong?

I moved from corsair value select to Corsair vengeance lpx.

My specs are as followed.

CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 2600X

GPU - GTX 1070

MOBO - ASUS TUF B450

The mobo supports this ram and anything upto 3200mhz

I really don't understand what is going on? any help would be appreciated.

Here is a screen shot below of cpuz, taks manager and HWinfo.

1496x2 = 2992mhz. = So your ram is running at 2933mhz. WHICH IS NORMAL. Windows will report it as 3000mhz.
You multiply by 2 for DDR memory.

It's running as it should.

100 (Bclk) x 30 = 3000.
So as normal your Bclk is running slightly under 100 MHz which is why your RAM is running at slightly under 3000 MHz.

So just me being stupid then lol, thanks for the reply, appreciate it.
