I know that higher is better. However I'm just curious with my card. It's inno3D 1060 gaming oc 6gb variant. I did not change any settings on it since day one(overclocked) and I know the base clock is 1556 MHz and boost clock is 1749 MHz . However I just notice that when, I'm playing it goes as high as 1949 MHz (using cpuz). It is perfectly silent and cool, so I know there is no issue. Just curious for an explanation. Thanks. Is it because of being a "gaming oc" variant?

if it matters, here is my pc specs
CPU I5-8400
Cooler hyper 212 led turbo
Board Gigabyte B360M-H
Ram kingston hyperx 2666
SSD 120GB WD Green
HDD 2TB barracuda
PSU Thermalteke Smart SE 730w

and to add I'm thinking of buying a 2nd hand gtx 1070 or a new rtx 2060, has anyone already have the 2060? how good is it?

That is the way the Nvidia GPUs boost. It advertises 1749, but it can go higher pending the cooling and power requirements. So they always boost higher than what the advertised boost is, unlike CPUs where what is advertised is the most you get but GPU what is advertised is the least you get. I think they make it confusing on purpose.

Dont get a 1070, it is a good card, but it wont be that big of a performance jump from your 1060. The 2060 however will be a nice jump and if you have the money, it is a good card that is hard not to recommend.
