Thanks for the link JJ,

I have the 6400+ up to 3.45 on air and it is really shinning in this new cool master case. It is Idling at 28C . I got a 12,092 with benchmark06 and no over clock on the 8800GtS. stressed out it only hit 38C. The cpu only got 2474 I think or alittle less. The phenom at 2.41 got 3318 and 3379 at 2.45. so even under clocked it still scores better then the 6400+ over clocked to 3.45Ghz.

Ok a ASUS M2N-SLI has the 570 chipset...

The M2N32-sli deluxe has a Nvidia 590 Chipset

I no its a daft question, just check it for us again ...

As the numbers are close....

It is a m2n32-sli deluxe wifi, I was going to get the cheaper one but didn't because of the 570 chipset. It is showing the north bridge at a 590 but the south bridge is showing as a 570 chipset. Could this have to do with a driver update??

The board that you have is a hybrid 590 north bridge with a 570 south bridge..

Any way try this.. as i have had it running for 4 days with out trouble

Disable Cool ´n Quiet, to unlock multiplier.

When Cool´n Quite enable only 12.5 as this is the only one that works.

My 9850 running fast and stable at 14x200

Temp and Voltages,

how to make 9850 & M2N32-SLI work:

When you set manual voltage for CPU, works in this mode:

Auto: 1.25 + 0,05v, show 1.30 and 9850 runs very hot.

I use 1.1625 Volts on the processor with a CPU Offset option (0,02v) to run at 14x200, and temps show 41/43 idle 55/56 full load.

This processor over heats and thats why Windows is unstable..

This board still has some issues with 9850 and hence maybe why the last core is packing up as its just too much for it but dont tell the supplier tho.

Do your self a favour too get a higher grade HSF youll need it

I've just done some quick research online and discovered this ... the 570 SLi and 590 SLi southbridge are identical - no difference between them, so no need to worry about it.

Not surprising really since southbridge only deals with storage controllers etc anyway (ie sata, IDE, USB etc)

thanks harry,

I will try your spec's but I believe I had cool and quit disabled and with this new coolmaster case the Phenom never hit over 40C at load. I have the new Jetway HA04 extreme on the way, should be here tomorrow or thur.

Thanks for the info Coret. My 6400+ is now acting unstable when last night it had no issues at 3.4GHZ. Temps at Idle were 28-30C Temps at load did not even hit 40C I have tried to clear the Cmos, and I am doing a system restore right now. either it has locked up up or just taking a really long time. The new jetway will be here by thur. so well see what is going on with the phenom then.

I'm not so sure to be honest ... I'm nowhere near as clued up about how nforce SLi chipsets work as I should be (considering I have one). The impression I had of the difference between 570 SLi and 590 SLi is that due to the increased number of PCI-X lanes on the 590 they were no longer able to integrate the north and south onto a single chip because of heat reasons.

Hope that clears things up!

To be honest, I didn't know for sure either, I just did some research and found this stuff! Looks like we both learned!

Thanks guys for all the info. My 6400+ is not having any problems today with the freezing up issue. I think the 1903 bios is unstable. The Jetway didn't get here today, but it should be here tomorrow so I will get to test the new 9850. I hope it goes well. I still haven't tried the 9850 back into the M2n32-sli deluxe and don't think I am going to. I was going to go with water cooling but with this coolmaster case 590 I don't need it. Idle temps are still at 28-29C with out the over clock.

Thanks Lu15Fr7,

I hope this new Jetway is a decent board. I have heard alot of people saying stay away from Jetway, but after talking to Asus support about my issue's with the M2n32-sli deluxe, I said to hell with it and decided to try a different company. I still can't find any info on what power phase this new Jetway is. I hope it is 8 phase, If not I might have gone with Asus again with there top of the line for $189 - the ram cooler and wifi. I almost did, I hope this Jetway extreme is a Quality board. Asus told me that there is no way that it has the 570 chipset in it and that it is bios related

OCZ gold 6400 800mhz 2x2gb sticks. Just got the Jetway last night and same problem, error on the secondary processor. It has to be the phenom that I got. I am RMA this processor for the second time. Lets hope the third time is a charm!!

Well the Quad is in and acting the same way it was with the Asus board. I have to underclock it to get it to run stable. If it is at stock 2.5 it errors out to a blue screen. Trying to find 64 bit amd overdrive to test the bad core.

I found the 64 bit ver. of overdrive but when it installed and went to start it it stated that It doesn't detect a AMD processor. So no luck yet with AOD and checking the core to see if its bad. I have it up to 2.46 and it appers to be stable. The driver disk that came with the Jetway will not let me install it, windows says its not a signed driver. So I am trying to find all of the important drivers for my board.

Sorry I read page 1 and jumped to the end because it was so long ago. Medjohnson77 I recently talked my bro into getting the new 9850 black edition for his ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard -- Before we installed it we updated the bios to the new 1903 from asus website. Popped it in and everything is running fine, I want to overclock it soon and I know not to be too hopeful. But his futuremark 06 score was just shy of 12k running with an 8800gt. You may want to try your phenom again w/ the new bios instead of your 6400.

Also I had a question about the Hyper Transport 3 in my other post you can link to here: Any answers would be helpful thank you. ^ http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/249476-30-benchmarks-1000mhz-2600mhz-hyper-transport

"I recently just built a new computer and switched from an old AMD system to the tried and true q6600, overclocked it easy and love it. However I recently talked my brother into buying the new 9850x4 Phenom because he had a motherboard that could still support it (ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard - found here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 13131011). I have not played around with AMD for a long time though and would like some help.

I was just reading about the hyper transport 3.0 and the speeds ranging dramatically. Does anyone have some benchmarks of different hyper transport speed motherboards w/ the same hardware. I feel bad talking him into it without doing my homework but hey it wasnt my money. Now im trying to debate weather or not to go get him the (ASUS M3A32-MVP Deluxe/WiFi AM2+/AM2 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard - found here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 13131224). (Although yes he would lose SLI and would have to do Crossfire and get new cards.)

Benchmarks would be very helpful, but informed speculation is ok if no benchmarks are known. We are gamers and like the new shooters etc but he likes to do video editing alot also.

1000MHz vs 2600MHz Hyper Transport ------ Huge difference or can I feel ok that I talked him into it? Thank you for all your help.

(He had a 4200+ and upgrading to the Phenom increased his FutureMark 06 score by only about 700 points Currently he gets just shy of 12000 w/ the 8800 GT I had him get also, I am also wanting to overclock it for him --- what little it can, would if affect that at all?) "

cyber,

not sure how much help I will be at this time I still have a bad processor, I got AOD to install and at this point tried to enable it in the bios so it would work but every time I enable it, sets back to stock 2.5 ghz and vcore of 1.33 and spits up the blue screen with the second processor error. Trying to update my bios for the new jetway, Its not like asus easy flash , the manual says to burn the file to a disk and flash it that way. I would much rather use a usb stick to do this. Still trying to figure it out.
