would like to know any precautions to take before using it.would i need to monitor everything on it? do i have to apply thermal paste since cpu has been exposed to air? service center assured me of everything would work fine.anything i should need to know?
thanks

Yes You need to clean it off and then clean it with alcohol make sure you get all of the old past off. from my experience I take toilet paper clean off all the visible junk then use Qtips and alcohol. takes about 10 or so Qtips

Oh and clean the Heatsink as well as the CPU

ok so clean and paste. got it.
anything else besides?
Thanks

Thats it. When I apply the thermal compound I make a line across the cpu about the size of a long grain rice. Then rotate your heatsink clockwise and counterclockwise to spread the compound then tighten it down firmly

so i guess alcohol has to be pure since any type of solution could cause rusting?
thanks for the methods also.
