Just bought an EVGA gtx 760, i also upgraded my power supply to a cooler master ex2 625w (for the expressed purpose of gpu upgrade)
i don't think it matters but here are the rest of my specs:

Gigabyte P75-d3 motherboard
8gb hyperx ram ddr3
intel i3-2120
2tb seagate barracuda 7200rpm
windows 8.1 64-bit

My computer will not turn on. I have triple checked every connection i can find and everything looks solid, i just have no power. someone halp!

PS, i don't have my old GPU anymore so plugging it back in to change the drivers isnt an option.

Solution
Some older motherboards that have PS/2 ports won't respond to USB keyboard or mouse input to enter the BIOS setup. Those motherboards require the use of a PS/2 keyboard plugged into the PS/2 keyboard port because that is the port that it is expecting input on.
Troubleshoot with a better quality power supply unit. You don't have a 625W power supply. The RS-625-PCAR-D3 is a 575W power supply but it can't even deliver that amount safely without going out of spec.

What do drivers have to do with powering on a PC? The driver only comes into play once the Operating System is loaded. You can't even get the system to power on.

I only just managed to power it on, thanks for telling me about the PSU.. i suspected as much and i'll probably ditch it now. Now i'm stuck on the gigabyte start screen, no functions work, can't access BIOS. I mentioned drivers because it was a solution to someone else having a similar problem with the same card. Their old drivers were interfering with the new graphics card.
Can anyone help me past the start screen? I don't want to risk damaging anything important while blundering around in ignorance.

Does the startup logo screen list the buttons you can press to get into the UEFI BIOS? Usually the Delete key gets you into the BIOS Setup. None of this requires any graphics card drivers to be installed because there's nowhere to install the drivers to.

I got the gigabyte boot screen for a while. all commands are ineffective.. i get a weird clicking sound from the tower when i hit a key. The options are f9 (system info), f12 (boot menu) end (q-flash) and del for bios. Now however it's just gone from that to a black screen with a single type prompt in the upper left corner.

If all you see is an underscore symbol (i.e. _ ) that means it's waiting for a bootable drive.

ah! well that's what it is. any suggestions beyond that or should i just go into the computer store and have them trouble shoot. my hard drive is hooked up properly and was running fine with my last video card, nothing's changed.. hmmm puzzling

ahh well, my board does have those ports, i'll try my luck at my local computer boutique tomorrow.

thanks a lot again for trying, and thanks for the PSU advice..
