Just installed AMD FX-8350... Blue screen on startup.

Hello everyone,

So I just got my new CPU (FX 8350) and the ASUS MXA99FX Pro R2.0. However I can get to BIOS and everything and then when I go to the startup of the computer, it goes to starting windows (windows 7) for a second or 2 then it briefly blue screens and then asks me if I want to start windows normally or repair. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I would really appreciate some help!

Here is my current setup:

CPU: FX8350
PSU Corsair TX750W
GPU: EVGA Geforce 650 Ti SSC 2GB
MOBO: ASUS MXA99FX Pro R2.0
RAM: G Skill Ripjaws 12 GB

try getting into safe mode and look for the BSOS info in event viewer, I assume this is a fresh installation right?

Let me guess your still trying to use the version of windows 7 that was setup with the old motherboard and cpu setup.
You just connected the hard drive in with windows 7 on it expecting to work with the new board and cpu setup.

Won`t work.

You need to do a clean fresh install of windows 7.

Did you exchange one CPU for another or was this a new build/reinstall? If you installed a new CPU and mother board and attempting to boot up to your hard drive with a previously installed version of windows that could be part of the problem.

You probably have some drivers that have CPU-specific parameters loaded causing crashes due to installed parameters no longer matching the installed CPU. You can try rebooting in safe-mode and remove CPU-related drivers.
