Just installed another 8gb of ram, and it doesn't show up in my system as 16GB?

Just got another hyper x savage 2400mhz 8gb, turned off pc unplugged everything and put the ram in. But the ram has not been register even ho i reset the pc twice? do you know is there any other process for the pc to register the new ram?

If you already had 8gb of ram fitted to your motherboard please list the existing brand type and speed of the memory plus the timing or latency values found on the sticker of one of the existing ram sticks before you placed the 2x4 Kingston hyper X memory modules along side it.

Also list the brand of the motherboard you use, and the model number of the motherboard.

I'm sorry, I have a Asus Rog maximus vii hero. Originally I have one Kingston hyper x savage 8gb 2400mhz, and now I just added in the same exact ram.

Is the RAM visible in the BIOS?
If you can see 16GB in the BIOS then the OS is your limitation.

Depending on your windows version your RAM can be limited.

Windows Home Basic edition has a limit of 8GB.

I premium, and I have to check the bios? Cuz I don't wanna mess up any setting that was already set in the bios!
