So I just replaced my GTX 550 Ti with a Geforce GTX 760. I simply removed my old card and plugged in the new one. Put it in the correct PCI (3.0) put in 6 and 8 pin adaptors, connected DVI-I. Started up my computer and now I'm stuck on the BIOS splash screen. I can't press any keys to go to the boot menu, etc. After sitting at the screen for a minute it changes to a black screen with a flashing underscore. Didn't press anything here, didn't know what to do.

I have a GIGABYTE GA-B75M-D3V motherboard.

EDIT: I should add that I did NOT unistall my old GPU from the device manager screen. I simply took it out of the computer. Not sure if that matters/makes any difference.

Solution

@ the bottom of the board, under the pcie slot near the battery is "clr_CMOS" jumper pin.
Power off, move the jumper over for 10sec, put the jumper back & boot.
This will reset the bios to default settings, and then setup the new card.

Try the DVI-D. It's digital only no analog signal see if that helps.

No, I contacted Gigabyte support and the following is what they told me to do, which fixed my issue:

Dear customer,

Please try the following:

1. Go to Bios.

2. Go to Bios features.

3. Set "Other PCI Device ROM Priority" to "Legacy only"

4. Press "F10" to save and exit.
